Due to the demand for on-going professional development in today’s changing global business environment, KCE has developed a Business Management Certificate. The certificate is designed to help you enhance your knowledge of business theory as well as develop professional business skills within your specific area of interest. The Business Management Certificate offers specialization tracks in general management, marketing, corporate finance, and international business. Each track consists of two core courses in managerial economics and business ethics as well as four track-specific electives. Each track utilizes course materials and techniques grounded in current business theories and best practices.

As in all professions, salaries in business vary substantially depending upon your level of responsibility, tenure, education, company size, location, and industry. In 2006, the median annual salary of a marketing manager was $98,720. Also in 2006, financial managers were earning a median annual salary of $90,970.

 Is This Program Right For Me? 

The Business Management Certificate is ideally suited for business professionals who wish to advance their career, capitalize on new professional opportunities, or change career paths. The Business Management Certificate is also suited for professionals who lack a formal business education, but want to obtain a foundation in business theory and practice. A bachelor's degree is required.


Students enrolling in the Business Management Certificate program must demonstrate basic computer skills through successful completion of a challenge exam or submission of a transcript reflecting completion of a college-level computer course. Students unable to satisfy this requirement must complete the Business Management Certificate program's Introduction to Computer Skills course. There will be no charge to the student for either the challenge exam or the Introduction to Computer Skills course.


The Business Management Certificate offers a core foundation in managerial economics and business ethics and provides specialization tracks that target specific business skill development. You may select one of the following specialization tracks:

  • Corporate Finance: Review financial statement analysis, risk and return, capital budgeting, and ROI-based decision making.

  • General Management: Focus on successful business practices within operations management, international management, and quality management/Six Sigma.

  • International Business: Focus on strategic decision making in today’s global marketplace. This specialization track provides a theoretical and practical foundation in the principles of business administration as practiced in a multinational setting.

  • Marketing: Study how to drive profitable growth by implementing promotional levers, understanding consumer behavior, and utilizing market research.
