 Program Descriptions 

Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA) Certificate—You will receive instruction on the Microsoft Windows Server 2003 platform in preparation for Microsoft certification exams. The Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA) credential is considered a valid and reliable measure of technical proficiency and expertise to successfully manage and maintain typically complex computing environments. This certificate is appropriate for systems administrators, network administrators, information systems administrators, network operations analysts, network technicians, and technical support specialists. This IT training program is designed to provide the foundation for you to prepare for Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator certification exams.†

Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) Certificate—Study the planning, implementation, maintenance, and support of information systems. This certificate is appropriate for systems engineers, technical support engineers, systems analysts, network analysts, and technical consultants. The Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) credential is considered demonstration of the skills necessary to lead organizations in the successful design, implementation, and administration of the most advanced Windows operating system. Our program is designed to help you prepare for Microsoft certification exams. This particular program provides the foundation for you to prepare for the Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer certification exams.†

Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS) Certificate—You will study how to support Microsoft Windows, Web, or distributed applications that use the .NET Framework 2.0 and Visual Studio 2005 development. There are four Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS) certification tracks: (1) Web applications development, (2) Windows applications development, (3) Distributed applications development, and (4) Windows Vista configuration. As part of this IT training program, you will be trained to target specific technologies and become proficient in troubleshooting and debugging. This program will provide the foundation for you to prepare for IT certification by way of the Microsoft Certified Technical Specialist certification exams.†

Microsoft Certified Professional Developer (MCPD) Certificate—You could become proficient in Windows development, Web application development, or enterprise applications development using .NET Framework 2.0 and Visual Studio 2005. There are three Microsoft Certified Professional Developer (MCPD) certification tracks for you to choose from based on your career goals: (1) Web development, (2) Windows application development, and (3) enterprise application development. Professional developers assist in building the technical infrastructure for organizations. This program is designed to provide the foundation for you to prepare for Microsoft certification exams, specifically the Microsoft Certified Professional Developer certification exams.†

Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) Certificate—Study a wide range of information security topics in this IT training program. This program is based on the 10 domains that comprise the (ISC)² Common Body of Knowledge and serve as the foundation for the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) examination. The CISSP certification is considered a premier international credential for establishing the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities for competent practice of information security. This program will provide the foundation for you to prepare for the Certified Information Systems Security Professional certification exam.†

Cisco Certified Entry Networking Technician (CCENT) Certificate—This program focuses on the installation, setup, operation, and troubleshooting of small enterprise branch networks and helps prepare you to sit for the CCENT certification examination.† In addition, you are taught the fundamentals of networking, routing, and switching; how to connect to a wide area network (WAN); basic wireless and security concepts; configuring and operating IOS devices; and how to configure simple networks.

Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Certificate—This program focuses on the installation, setup, operation, and troubleshooting of medium-sized routed and switched networks and helps prepare you to sit for the CCNA certification examination.† You are taught to implement and verify remote site connections in a wide area network; implement network security and mitigate security threats; understand network types, media, and the TCP/IP and OSI network models; determine IP routes and manage IP traffic; and establish point-to-point and frame relay connections.

Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Certificate—This program focuses on the installation, setup, operation, and troubleshooting of large enterprise local and wide area networks with 500 or more nodes and helps prepare you to sit for the CCNP certification examination.† You are taught to manage routers, switches, and enterprise applications that integrate wireless networking, security, and voice systems into a network.

Cisco Certified Design Associate (CCDA) Certificate—The Cisco Certified Design Associate (CCDA) Certificate teaches you the groundwork knowledge needed to design Cisco Enterprise networks, including Cisco's Service-Oriented Network Architecture (SONA). Graduates may design the infrastructures and services for Cisco routed and switched networks, to include Local Area Network, Wide Area Network, and broadband access for networks. The program is designed to help you prepare to sit for the CCDA certification examination.†

Cisco Certified Design Professional (CCDP) Certificate—The Cisco Certified Design Professional (CCDP) Certificate is designed to provide you with advanced knowledge of Cisco network design. Graduates may perform advanced Cisco network design in complex multi-layered enterprise architectures, wireless domains, virtual private networking, and advanced routing and addressing. The CCDP certification is the premier professional certification for network design professionals.  Microsoft Virtual Labs  

Microsoft virtual labs are now live and available to all students enrolled in Kaplan Continuing Education's MCSA, MCSE, MCPD, and MCTS certificate programs. Through a partnership with Microsoft IT Academy, Kaplan Continuing Education offers additional online training at no additional cost to students. Students have access to a rich and interactive learning environment that includes simulations, games, videos, and hands-on virtual lab practices. No additional software is required.
